Sibelius + DAW (epic libraries and sound engineering) = BLISS In short, Sibelius procreates with Logic and has a baby. When will our Messiah be born? I will pay through the nose on the day. Goodbye Sibelius, my longtime love, hopefully not for too long. Reluctantly and heartbrokenly trying to figure out Logic's notation nightmare😩 Yeah, I tried Re-Wire. Need it to go the OTHer way. Yeah, I paid $1,100 for ...more »
When adding a bar at the beginning of the score, while going to Notations/Time Signature/More Options/Start with a bar of length, while it is possible to create a single bar by selecting a full note, you can only create one bar at a time. If there was an extra counter box to input the number of bars that would save repeating the process for each extra bar needed. Also.. adding the extra bar adds an extra time signature ...more »
This is a problem which has also been known with Scorch. Playback sound is created by the Cloud Sharing engine. This is ok, as long as one is happy with the built in Sibelius sounds. I am using other sound libraries such as Garritan and Sampletank. It would be nice, if I could upload my own MP3 (exported from Sibelius using my own sound libraries) to the cloud, rather than relying only on the soundtrack from the engine. ...more »
I am usually arranging/writing scores for multiple instrumentations. In order for them to appear as seperate scores in the Cloud Sharing Dashboard, the need to have different titles, otherwise they will be treated as the same score. I would like to have the same title for these scores and have another field to distinguish them.
The new Cloud Sharing function in Sibelius > 8.7 has a Dashboard, which can only be called from within Sibelius. It would be nice to call it from a Web Browser.
After copying and pasting notes where lyrics were with the original, I find I have to select each individual syllable on the pasted notes to delete.
If the copying was correct in the first place by doing something like holding down the ALT key to disown the lyrics but copy the notes that would be such a time saver.. Even save going to all the (what would be), unnecessary filter options.
Hello, I'm testing and comparing musicxml files exported from Sibelius itself and Dolet plugin. I'd prefer to use Dolet's export, because there are things like some texts and even fingerings not exported from Sib itself, and Dolet can handle most of the things correctly. But there's a problem with cross-staff notes, which Michael Good says it impossible to solve. The piano score with cross-staff notes can correctly ...more »
When entering lyrics, the cursor auto-advances as you hit the space bar for a new word or dash for a new syllable. EXCEPT; when there are tied notes. In that case, the cursor goes to the 2nd of the tied notes and you wind up typing in a syllable or word on that note, when it should be the note following the tied note that gets the next text. Then you have to go back (often for an entire phrase), erase what you did and ...more »
Hi everyone, I hope in the next future to improving Sibelius with independent "Key Signature” and “Time Signature” inside the same score, and to lock triplets or other for composing quickly. For example .. opening keypad I will able to lock a triplets like a eight note and so on. This possibility would like for composing so fast or writing own improvvisation in triplets form. I hope I explained my idea. All the best ...more »
Tempo primo used to work correctly in v7.5. However, it seems to be broken in 2018.1
I recently completed a piece in 3 movements. The final movement has an intro followed by a cadenza and then a section marked Tempo primo. This should start at the same tempo as the movement's intro, but it just seems to choose some random value. The movements are properly marked by Section End markers.
