It would greatly improve workflow if you could do a search for the symbol/line/text etc. that you're looking for once those tabs in the ribbon are open
On higher resolution displays, icons and text gets cutoff. The banners at the top of the quick start menu are squashed together and the + button in the upper right to view parts is extremely tiny. Also any text messages like the included image are cutoff as well. There are ways to fix this, but they all involve lowering the visual quality of the display. I'm asking sibelius to support 4k and other hi res displays, it ...more »
On a Mac laptop, you can use either option or alt (I can't remember) and the nearest letter keys (qwer asdf xzcv) to select the corresponding button on the keypad. (Q = upper left corner, S = middle button 2nd row, etc.) This would be very useful because if you have a laptop with no external keypad, it is much faster to do this than manually select everything with the mouse. Again, this has been available on Mac for ...more »
Allow lines like pedal lines, octave lines, etc. to be positioned independently on each system on which they continue. Right now, that is not fully possible and results in lines that float too far away on some systems while being too close on others.
I think it can be really useful for our lovely sibelius especially for orchestral unison and octave passes. One can choose 4 or 5 staffs and can define octave and unions before starting to write. For example: I am supposing we are entering our melodies based on violin II staff. And our midi keyboard or note entry is on Vln. An option that can active and disable alt (option) button for key tip suggeriments. It bees very annoying when someone has a lot of shortcuts based alt button and other combinations. Because if you work fast and don't pay attention before you press another button you can press this and it actives key tips suggeriments. So it breaks fast workflow. Can be useful an option to able and disable that.
When importing MusicXML file, the tempo marker is not displayed. Notice in screenshot the top image shows MuseScore displaying the tempo. In bottom image shows Sibelius with tempo marker not visible. Interestingly, playback does occur at correct tempo, so Sibelius is recognizing the tempo, just not displaying it for some reason.
Steps: 1. Open Sibelius with a valid MusicXML file, e.g. "test.xml". 2. Sibelius will handle this fine and display the score. 3. Make a small change, e.g. add or delete a note. 4. Save the file. Result: Sibelius will save the file as a SIB file but overwrite the original XML file and leave the original name. In other words, "test.xml" will now be a Sibelius binary file. Note: The Avid support person thinks that this ...more »
