A wavy arpeggio line in front of a chord as in Ex1 plays back OK. However, if the chord is in two parts on one of the staves as in Ex2. the chord is not spread in play back.
If a chord is both (a) stem-down, and (b) contains intervals of seconds, then either (1) the stem position is incorrect horizontally, or (2) the lengths of ties to and from each side of the chord is mis-computed. See attached graphic for an example.
Can you please add BASS chords to the chord tools? I know you can type them in with the legacy chord tool/symbols but these don't transpose automatically like the other chords and this is frustrating as I need to often quickly transpose scores
Currently, Sibelius does not allow you to create ties between notes in an arpeggiated chord to the full blocked chord, as shown to the left. The Sibelius Reference Guide (excerpt in 2nd attachment) admits this can only be done by manually by resizing the ties. However, when the score is changed, Sibelius does not automatically resize or move the ties magnetically with the score. Arpeggiated chords are used extensively ...more »
Sometimes if I've been using Sibelius 7.5 for a few hours, some of the keyboard shortcuts stop working, especially ⌘+K for chord symbols. How do I fix this?
Entering chord names via playing the chord is a great time saver. However, most of us have preferred rootless voicings. Some of these voicings produce an "OMIT phrase. This - though correct - is very annoying in most professional situations. Some chords we play are intentionally vague - gaining their character from context (usually the bass note or one's system of harmony.) In short, I'd like to personalize the chord ...more »
There should be a feature that creates a chord diagram based on the frets and string placement specified in tablature below. Right now, chord diagrams are created completely independently of tablature specification.
Here's a suggestion for REALIZE CHORD SYMBOLS: Add an option to "RE-USE GENERATED STAFF". With this option, the plug-in would need to give the generated staff (or staves) distinct names, such as "Gen. Piano Staff" and "Gen. Guitar TAB Staff". Then, if the "RE-USE" option is selected: *) If there is not already a "Gen. XXX Staff", then add one and proceed as currently. *) If there is already a "Gen. XXX Staff", ...more »
Use Alt + arrow to jump to note in chord even if not in same instrument voice.
Often need to quickly move to other voices in chord, even if not in same voice, i.e Split Voice. Alt+ arrow does not allow jump to voice other than the one selected.
I would simply like to draw the cross staff glissando arrow and have the gliss go across staff as shown but also be played. Sibelius can not play this but plays only half of the chord. This is essential for Harp. Here is the score as it looks and you will hear the harp at .33 seconds in Glissando, but its written incorrectly here and I have to figure a work around.
If the Sibelius user-interface language is set to (a) Brazilian Portuguese, or (b) Russian, then Chord Symbols (entered after Ctrl-K) are not recognised, and remain in red. Also, the list of available chord symbols in the dialogue "Edit Chord Symbols" is empty (which might be why Chord Symbols are not being recognised). Add an option to the list of parts that can be extracted from a score to include the chords in the score. Extract those chords into a simple chord chart, with chords written over a simple single line staff. This could be printed out for players who don't need notes to play along with a score, just the chords.
