Make a part act like a score.

I would like the ability to easily make a part "act like a score". Create a part, add all the staves I want to be shown on the second score, then click some kind of "act like score" checkmark and boom! a second score that can be formatted independently of the first. There are many reason why this is handy. - I may have two scores formatted differently. Like an 11 x 17 version and a study score version. - There ...more »

Focus on parts

Add facility to manage and print a selection of parts together in one group from a larger score in the Sibelius First version. It is vailable in the full version. It also exists in the free Musescore and Note flight.

Add option to reset Part Info to Score Info values

When editing the Score Info in Sibelius, inputting fields like Title, Subtitle, Composer, etc., by default, anything you type into the Score Info for the Full Score automatically populates the same information in the Info for each part. The fields that always change on a per-part basis are the Part Name and the Instrument Changes, which of course you want and expect to change. Most of the rest of these fields really ...more »

Messagebox when sounds are missing

When opening scores from other composers Sibelius asks whether or not to change the playback-configuration.

It would be also great to get a notification when sounds/plugins are missing, listing the affected staves and the plugins + sounds that are missing.

At the moment it is very time-consuming to recover scores and finding replacements.

Return playback sound choice to mixer

In older versions of Sib it was possible to easily reassign playback sounds for each stave from the Mixer. Each stave/channel revealed the instrument assigned to it and allowed that to be changed. This has disappeared in the more recent versions. As an arranger, I miss having the ability to easily reassign different sounds without having to add a new stave to the score, copy the notes into it, audition the results, ...more »

Multiple Full Scores in Single File

Currently there is only one Full Score option and many parts options available. I'd like to be able to create multiple Full Scores - linked to parts. By varying page size & content you could create miniature scores, partial scores, and Full scores. Am I missing something - it has happened before. Perhaps it could be Full Score a) b) and c)?

Tonic Sol-Fa

I want to be able to produce scores in tonic sol-fa notation (WITHOUT standard music notation). As far as I'm aware, there is currently no software available to do this, but I'm sure it could be done fairly easily. The difficulty of just trying to write it on, say, Microsoft Word, is that spacing quickly becomes a problem, and there are no good ways of writing the little hook (, or ' ) denoting octave, without using up ...more »

Housestyle, more separate settings for Score and Parts

It is quite cool to be able to do different settings for score and parts in the house-style. But in my opinion it is not enough. Most commonly a house-style is not done in one shot. It grows... I am still in need to edit a lot of settings like page-sizes, margins, appearance of bar-numbers, page-numbers separately. Example: In a score I would like to see the bar-no. in the middle of every bar but in parts underneath ...more »

Give more staff editing options to include cutaway score

I read the article on the unofficial Sibelius blog about creating cutaway scores, and I must say that I am intrigued by this modern scoring format. Unfortunately, it is entirely too much work to accomplish when it would be possible to include a simple feature to completely hide a selected measure from view. Such a feature would give much more creative control over modern notation techniques, which is important to promote ...more »
