It is so annoying to have to move all of the objects and put them back when making multi-measure rests. It is a waste of time. I really should be able to select the measures I want and combine them into a multi-measure rest. Please add this feature.
If you type a lot of lyrics, “Curly Quotes“ option, found in most word processors and programs would certainly be handy and time-saving.
Allow for different time signatures simultaneously in different parts as an option. Ie. 4/4 in one part and 12/8 in another. It's doable in other software like finale but Sibelius currently doesn't allow for it.
Just as in Panorama view when you scroll to the right the instruments stay listed to the left, it would be rather fabulous if you could have the same happening with the lyrics to stay on the top of the screen as you scroll down so that instead of relying on the measures for aligning of lyrics to notes you can keep them in view exactly.
This is a problem which has also been known with Scorch. Playback sound is created by the Cloud Sharing engine. This is ok, as long as one is happy with the built in Sibelius sounds. I am using other sound libraries such as Garritan and Sampletank. It would be nice, if I could upload my own MP3 (exported from Sibelius using my own sound libraries) to the cloud, rather than relying only on the soundtrack from the engine. ...more »
After copying and pasting notes where lyrics were with the original, I find I have to select each individual syllable on the pasted notes to delete.
If the copying was correct in the first place by doing something like holding down the ALT key to disown the lyrics but copy the notes that would be such a time saver.. Even save going to all the (what would be), unnecessary filter options.
Would be great to have a non-arpeggio keypad function that automatically attaches to the note like the arpeggios (see attached picture)
Why dont we have icloud or Dropbox sync support? Yes, I know I can open the files in said apps and then "export to" scorch but that seems like a huge waste. Also, when can we expect to be able to use the apple pencil to make notations?
I would like to be able to quickly mute a selection. I realize you could go into inspector and unselect 1st time playback but its a bit cumbersome and also then there is no visual indication that the section has been muted. So perhaps something like: select a few bars, hit the mute notes button or Ctrl-M, and then the music turns grey (or hidden) and the notes do not playback. Hitting the button again unmutes the ...more »
Please bring back the old Part window. Having everything in different places slows me down so much! So, what I used to do is have the part window open. I could see what part I was on, what part was next, in a lovely vertical list. All the icons below was everything I needed. I can edit easily what staves are in each part, I know what part is next, it only opens one part at a time (I hate the tabs thing in the new Sibelius, ...more »
I will admit that I am lousy at following a metronome. I also like to improvise and would love to turn improvisations into usable scores, even if just for my own reference. So here's my simple method (simple for the user, not necessarily simple to implement): Use flexi-time to record the notes, as usual, but then provide a way to manually mark the beats. In one possible implementation, there would a special "correction" ...more »
Hello, I'm a blind musician. When I'm doing a project producing braille music from Sibelius exported musicxml, I discovered there are lots of things musicxml can't express. I asked Michael Good, and he said the Manuscript language is very limited. For example, the xml can't point out whether a text belongs to a staff or a system. Also, there are lots of lines and brackets in the xml, but in Sibelius, they are lots of ...more »
