Ukulele is such a common instrument, and there is no ukulele tab option in sibelius first 2018.7. (Yet there is sitar and many, many other instruments.) I suggest either adding Ukulele tab and chords, OR let us program in how many strings and what their tunings are. This instrument could then be used for any string instrument. Or at least let us pay 5 bucks for this added instrument. There is a huge price difference between ...more »
Various instruments in the latest version of Sibelius Sounds (with Sibelius Ultimate 2018.7) have very different dynamic ranges. For example, in the bassoons, and in the French Horns, the is little difference between playing a note with ppp, and later (the same note) fff. With other instruments (flutes, oboes, clarinets, Saxohpnes. trumpets, timpany, Strings) the diference between ppp and fff is considerably greater. ...more »
Would be great if you could print (or export to pdf) a list of all your custom created keyboard shortcuts
The only way to play back harmonics on the latest Sibelius is with the Harmonics plug-in. This plug-in used to play back the sound of the actual harmonic sample, not just a simple interval above the note. This is a real loss for composers who write for strings. Harmonics are so commonly used and the harmonic samples that used to play back were awesome. They are gone. Please restore this functionality!!!
When I attempt to create an mp3, I get the message, "You can't use this playback ... it does not contain any virtual instruments". (I am using piano, from a previous version of Sibelius.) The Sibelius Sounds package is 23GB in size. I don't have 23GB available on my computer. Provide us with smaller size file. I just need piano. Note that I can export to MIDI ... and then convert to mp3 with a different program ...more »
There should definitely be a more intuitive way to add a line/hairpin to a fraction of a bar. For example, a hairpin over the last 2 beats of a bar with a whole note (as shown in the picture). In order to do this, you currently need to change the whole note into 2 half notes and put the hairpin on the second half note and then change it back into a whole note.
Assuming four notes (two notes in treble clef and two notes in bass clef), it would be good if we could play one chord ... then hit the arrow key and hear the next chord.
It would be good if Sibelius provided this capability. We could experiment by adding / removing notes and changing individual notes with flats, sharps, etc. (similar playing with a piano).
Would be great to be able to input a "chord" such as N.C./F (i.e. a single bass note) by just playing an "F" on a midi keyboard while entering chords using the chord input tool instead of having to enter this using legacy chords
Would be great if I could copy and paste bars containing rhythmic slashes and chord symbols but on some of the repeats using a "re-input chords" feature (similar to re-input notes) that would allow me to easily edit chord symbols on repeats.
When I stop the Play, the vertical line is dark green. It is difficult to find sometimes.
It would be good if we could change that to another color, such as red.
It would be great to be able to bracket chords in using the chord tool instead of heaving to convert the chords to legacy chord symbols. When using the plugin to bracket chords (which converts them to legacy chord symbols) these don't line up horizontally with regular chord symbols
A search function in the "Install plugins" window could be useful if you're looking to install new plugins that have a certain feature but you're not sure where exactly to locate them in the list that is provided.
