Repeated notes after fermata

Perhaps this problem has been reported before. I'm using Sibelius 7.5. When repeated notes follow a fermata, the second note in the series isn't sounded during playback and export. (Sometimes it sounds, but the volume is practically inaudible.) I tried to get around it by putting the repeated note on an ossia staff, but then I got unpredictable errors in the sound library. The only workaround that reliably helped ...more »

Features

Embed Audio file directly into PDF Export

It would be great to have an export option to export full score or parts as a pdf file while at the same time embedding the audio that matches that score into the pdf file. You could then email the pdf's as single files which the receiver could open and see and hear the score. Currently you have to export scores and audio separately then open these up in 3rd party program to do the above or send both files.

Bugs

Sibelius exports nothing during export but playbacks.

I've found a very annoying issue with Both Sibelius 7.x and Sibelius 8.1 on El Capitan: Sometimes, for some certain project file, while I was trying to export them to audio files, Sibelius play the music as the output progress bar increases and finally exported nothing onto my hard disk.

P.S. This bug exists for really long time and some other users encountered this bug with Sibelius 6.

Features

Please support AAC (iTunes Plus) Export.

MP3 is not friendly regarding multilingual ID3 data. An MP3 file may display ID3 correctly on a machine but incorrectly on another machine in different languages. MP3 is also a fatter format comparing to AAC (iTunes Plus) and it has potential data loss on audible frequencies. Thus, please support iTunes Plus export with loudness normalization and multi-band compression. Also, it will be useful to auto-trim the long silence ...more »

Misc

Using aax dsp plugins in Insert or as effects

Would be great to be able using aax dsp plugins in order to relieve cpu when playing or exporting the score.

Sibelius is an Avid products, so this is desheartening that axx plugins are ignored while only vst and audiounits are only proposed.

Also it would be great that all the plugins would be classified by categories or at least listed alphabetically.

Thanks for reading

Bring back offline audio bouncing!

With Sibelius 7.5, we lost the capability to do "off-line" mix downs, meaning when exporting an audio track, you have to sit there and listen to the entire thing in realtime. This is very frustrating when you have a long score or are trying to make rehearsal MP3s. Avid finally introduced this capability with Pro Tools 11 but took it away for some reason on Sibelius 7.5. It is extremely time consuming and monotonous. ...more »

Sibelius Audio on/off

Could it be possible to kill the sound which Sibelius makes whilst inputting notes, while at the same time having the audio still ive on the rest of the computer?

I don't like to hear the notes as I input them, but I do like, for instance, to listen to the BBC World service in my web browser whilst I'm working on Sibelius.

Remember default audio hardware.

I have onboard sound for Skype etc., a quality audio interface for DAW work. Not, I imagine, a unique setup. If I forget to power the external interface before starting Sibelius, it defaults to the onboard sound. But next time I start Sibelius, this setting is remembered. I have to go to Audio Engine and re-choose my external interface. When I open a score that expects a different playback device to my default one, ...more »

Inbuilt audio player

For those of us who undertake transcriptions or arrangements it would be amazing to have an inbuilt audio player like QuickTime..incorporated into the transport bar perhaps...whereby you cold play an audio file from within Sibelius through this player to help you arrange/transcribe. At the moment you have to play an audio file through a different application and keep having to switch back between that and Sibelius in ...more »
