More Customizable Manuscripts

I have a part time job now creating content for a music education app. A lot of that work is writing different riffs that can be substituted in the app. One measure long. You can see where I'm going. I'd really like to be able to create a one measure long manuscript. It would save me a lot of time on my work. I think other people that come up with riffs they like to save might use it. I wish the manuscripts were ...more »

Manuscript paper with more than 8 bars

When you set up manuscript paper, it reduces the content to 8 bars. I want it to keep as many bars as I want (all of them empty). I'm entering 2000 tunes into a database, and all of them are longer than 8 bars. The first thing I have to do, 2000 times, is add bars to the blank page after choosing the manuscript paper. Maddening. It's much easier to delete the extra bars at the end than to add more (fewer keystrokes). ...more »

manuscript accidental offset

I would suggest one or both these options:

- let manuscript control the X offset of accidentals

and/or

- improve the rules for spacing between accidentals in chords, so that chords with quartertones aren't as tight as chords with half-tones.

Control of lyric lines in ManuScript

(I raised this question on the ManuScript Developers' forum but got no responses, which I think means it can't be done at present. If I'm wrong, please correct me.) I would like to use a plug-in to eliminate lyric lines (the underscore lines that follow a word that is sung to more than one note), or to control their length. This could be done with additional variables in the LyricItem object, or with special LyricLine ...more »

(7.1.3b77) object.Select() no longer works for rests

As of Sibelius 7.1.3, selecting a note rest programmatically in ManuScript does not work. This has broken most plug-ins which select things (!) including my own Copy/Repeat Notes Only. Given a single bar passage selection, assuming the variable "selection", toSelect = CreateSparseArray(); for each object in selection { toSelect.Push(object); } while (toSelect.Length) { toSelect.Pop().Select(); } should select ...more »

Improvement of ManuScript-language

I might be cool to improve the ManuScript to enable plugin-programmers to have better control on ie. creating new instruments or to write plugins to change any kind of instrument-settings normally done in the instrument-panel. ManuScript is a bit old now-a-days. It might be cool as well, to give selected (3rd party) programmers access to the API incl. the knowledge-base. I know a bunch of Sibelius-Users who are working ...more »
