Local (document) settings can be preserved in a house style but this does not include things like modifications to fonts made at the system level in music fonts. Sibelius has 23.98, but not 23.976 options for frame rate. Careers have been ruined by not acknowledging the incremental bad dub/sync when using incorrect frame rates between 29.97 drop and 29.97 non drop. Can you imagine how badly dubbed/ synced the music is if you have a much smaller number - 23.976. Our brains process sound 60,000 times faster than our eyes view "pictures" - why we have film in the first place. ...more »
At present, Sibelius Player assumes A=440. This proposal is twofold: (a) to allow scores to specify the intended playback tuning, and (b) to permit the tuning to be varied by the user on the Transport panel.
Existing playback mechanisms in Sibelius, Notion, and many other platforms use user keystrokes to initiate the MINI Note On message--and use the note's length to determine when the Note Off message will be sent.
