Hyperlinks in Sibelius were high on Daniel's list of improvements shortly before the shutters came down on The Old Toy Factory. Michael Ost likened it to HTML, and in a way, it is. For writers of analyses, methods and histories, it would enable authors to write completely within Sibelius, thus obviating a trip to any 3rd party software. So how could it work? Put the text and graphics on a blank page. At the end paragraph ...more »
Hello, I encounter a problem after updating Sibelius from 8.6.0 to 8.6.1. I'm using special soundsets from http://www.soundsetproject.com for using Sibelius with EWQL Play Hollywood Orchestra. The soundsets work well from Sibelius 7.5 to 8.6.0. There are differences in midi messages sent when doing a decrescendo (and possibly a crescendo) with slur notes between version 8.6.0 and 8.6.1 and it makes sound wrong. The ...more »
Allow strings and woodwinds to play long notes without vibrato. Right now a short not is played without vibrato and a long note plays vibrato. This adds dissonance, and is inappropriate for many types of performance practice. I want a way to control vibrato either in the mixer or more ideally in the score.
The current Sibelius Network License server for multiseat licenses only works over IPv4. Please re engineer the licensing server to support IPv6 as well as IPv4.
With more and more educational institutions moving to IPv6 (we are fully IPv6 apart from our Sibelius machines), as well BT rolling out IPv6 nationwide in the UK in 2016, supporting IPv6 in Sibelius will become important.
Multiple trills in Sibelius 7 sounds results in garbage on playback. The trills do not terminate after the note ends and make the following note or notes trill. After two or three trills the trill then continues in all following notes for about 4 bars.
This blog has been around for quite a while now, then Sibelius 8.0 was release and nothing important didn't change. For the disappointment of many, v.8.0 came up missing even old features. Why do we keep posting on here, when it does not seem to be really making a change? would it be just a way to keep us users with the hope for a future new release?
A proprietary tablet custom designed for professional musicians, and groups of musicians, in a local network using Sibelius as the engine. The tablet system would meet this criteria: 1) True 9x12 inch screen size matching that of traditional printed music sheets. 2) Two 9x12 inch screen tablets hinged together as a book to match common printed music form, and for portability. 3) Wifi connection with a master/sub ...more »
When I place a crescendo (hairpin) over a note containing a tie across two measures, the sound volume abruptly drops when playback reaches the second measure. This problem has existed at least since Sibelius 7.0 and continues in Sibelius 7.5. I have encountered it with the flute instrument sample, but not with all instruments.

The new operable breath marks (commas) and caesuras in Sibelius 7.5.1 are a real blessing. But I have encountered one problem. Breath marks don't operate if the preceding note is tied. Can this problem be corrected? Also, it would be better if the commas appeared between the notes where the breath mark occurs. It takes time to manually nudge them all leftward, and sometimes they dislodge from the note where they ...more »
