In [Parts - Staves in Part] you can choose which staves appear in the part. The same should be available for the Full Score. This would allow something like a piano reduction to be available as a part but not visible in the Full Score.
I frequently have to make changes to the default spacing between staves - either in a full score or in parts. Often, though, I will want to ensure that this manual spacing is consistent between multiple staves. It would be great if it were possible to select a group of staves, hit "Distribute Staves Evenly" and have the spacing average out between them.
The parameter "Extra spaces between groups of staves" in the engraving rules is very handy, but it doesn't work if the lowest instrument of a group is hidden.
I select a caesura Symbol, and tick the boxes for "System" and "Draw on all staves". I want to copy/paste it into other positions in the score. Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V retains the "Draw on all staves" attribute. Chord-click or Alt-click doesn't.
I would simply like to draw the cross staff glissando arrow and have the gliss go across staff as shown but also be played. Sibelius can not play this but plays only half of the chord. This is essential for Harp. Here is the score as it looks and you will hear the harp at .33 seconds in Glissando, but its written incorrectly here and I have to figure a work around.
Sibelius should have the ability and option to allow hiding parts of staves in panoramic view. I have encountered many scores that add staves to accommodate a few bars of an additional voicing such as a Divisi for string parts where two voices interplay/cross-over each other and putting on one stave would be hard to read. Currently this means creating an additional instrument line which may be empty for over 90% of the ...more »
It's not very user-friendly to have to use the Up- and Down-Buttons in order to put a new instrument to the right place.
I really love that Sibelius put's new orchestral instruments automatically to the right place concerning the usual order of orchestral instruments. But if you don't write for orchestra you have to click on the Up- and Down-Button a thousand time!
I'm editing 160 orchestral pieces this week and i have to extract each part individually and edit it. I don't know why, I try to drag the staves and it never happens smoothly, it keeps shaking and ending in all the places I don't want it to be. Does it have something to do with the engraving rules? Please help!
Make two staves virtually link their contents. Example 1: Notation staff and tablature staff: When a note is changed/added/deleted in the tablature staff it will automatically be changed/added/deleted in the notation staff, and viceversa. Example 2: Linked dynamics: When dynamics are added/changed/deleted in one staff they will also be added/changed/deleted in the linked staff. Example 3: When a note is added/changed/deleted ...more »
I would appreciate when the plugin "Compare staves" would be integrated in Sibelius with improved filters.
Also lines, slurs, articulation should be available as a filter-option.
When comparing 2 staves with notes of diff. pitch but the same rhythm and articulation it would be easier.
Just an idea...
First of all right now it isn't possible to create prefatory staves without adding another bar. Sibelius should have an option of creating prefatory staves only in the staves we want them.
As a professional staff arranger for a premiere music organization, it becomes to difficult to manage the balance between publisher quality music and a chart that is revision-friendly. In order for me to stem away from separate score/part files for appearance demands, I often combine instrument staves for the score to free up real estate and hide the individual instrument parts to "Parts only." This allows me to designate ...more »
