Make the Inspector's visibility a program preference. Right now I have to pin it up for every new score. I use it all the time and just want it to stay out.
When text crosses a barline, it is useful to make ["erase"] a space in the barline for the text to cross. Up to Sib 7 I used whitespace tif's for this but with Sib 7 I changed my method to using the typgraphic controls in the inspector. I now select the text / select Text Frame from the Inspector, give the frame a little extra height and select the [vertical] alignment. Then I select erase background. This all ...more »
I would like to see more playback-settings of dictionary-entries in the inspector-panel.
A ritardando needs to be played in differnet ways.
Sometimes -50% over 4 beats - sometimes 35% over 6 beats and so on...
For now we have to created multible entries in the dictionary and hide them with a ( ~ )
It would be more intuitive to do those settings in the inspector-panel...
I have written this as a comment to another request which goes now into a different direction.
Please make all entries in the inspectors-panel accessable via shortcuts.
This would make life much easier when adjusting the placement of items. Also whether or not an item should be played can set very easy this way w/o interrupting the work-flow....
Logitech-user would be able to program macros...
Let's have an option in the inspector or with right-click to change the size of any item you place on the page, completely regardless of what it is.
Add a 'constrain proportions' check-box to the Text Frame Height and Width fields so you don't have to alter 2 numbers every time a text size adjustment is required. For example, to alter the Coda and Segno graphics' sizes in Repeat/DS text independently from the actual text.
Alternately, add a font size option back in.
Currently the arpeggio (vertical squiggly line symbol) from the keypad Articulations Page has only a global, course control found in the playback dictionary Staff Lines section that sets the spread in ms. Unfortunately, it sets all arpeggios to the same spread and if used simultaneously as might be found with harp and doubling piano in some scores - they all sound the same. The symbol parameters should be added to the ...more »
I cannot find a setting in Sibelius about this. How many times have I clicked a number on the KeyPad (eg.4 for crochet) only to find my KeyPad is still displaying the fermata or other tab and NOT the first tab with notes. PLEASE guys, give us a setting in Preferences where one can enter a number (in seconds) where the KeyPad resets back to the first tab after reaching the number of seconds as specified in Preferences. ...more »
I would like to have the possibility to change Notehead Type directly from the Status Bar, or shown in the inspector (or somewhere..) like in previous version of Sibelius.
Coming back each time you need it to Notation tab in the Ribbon could be annoying.
When using a trill (from 'Lines') it would be great if the trill could be turned on or off for individual voices. For example when notating for a concert band I am using 2 voices on the flute stave. The upper voice needs to trill a series of semibreves (whole notes) while the lower voice is playing crotchets (quarter notes). If I could select the trill, and then adjust which voices it applied to that would allow ...more »
It would be nice if the Inspector would show what the current status of Magnetic Layout was. For instance, if you have switch Magnetic Layout off for one object, could that show in the Inspector. It would be helpful when looking at objects that have been changed (or not). Perhaps even make it searchable in a filter ("objects for which Magnetic Layout is not Default"). Just a thought.
As it currently stands, the default behavior is for the Inspector to reduce upward in size—which makes sense since the "pin" is at the top of the Inspector. It would be nice to have the ability for it to start pinned at a lower location, then grow upwards rather than downwards.
