Although trills are adjustable via the inspector, it would be great to have a variety of trill lines (sharp, flat, natural, 1/2, etc.) that play back appropriately. It would also be great if pieces without key signature ("atonal") would default to semitone trills, rather than diatonic ones.
important for engravers and publishers...!
All accidentals need dif. distance-settings after a barline. sharps need a bit more than bs or naturals.
It will be more time saving when set in the house-style.
When writing progession it quite often happens that I have a given keysignature ie. Db-major, but the chord-changes are A - D - G - C etc. I really would appreciate to be able to switch to something like "b-preferred" or "#-preferred" during note-input. Also when it comes to beginners-sheets a user should be able to define their own tables. A beginning trumpetplayer need quite often a F# rather than a Gb etc. It would ...more »
When a note with an accidental in voice 2 is hidden in the same place as the same note with an accidental in voice 1, both accidentals are hidden. Can we have hidden objects NOT affecting the visible ones, please?
Would like to be able to have “real” cue sized accidentals on chords with mixed full and cue sized (notehead type 10, usually) noteheads. Currently they need to be faked with cue-sized symbols, which is cumbersome and time-consuming.
Currently, to notate 'musica ficta' (an editorial accidental displayed above a note in renaissance music) you need to use an accidental from the symbols menu, with often a need to reposition it into the correct position yourself. It is then merely a symbol, and will not react when transposing a passage like a normal accidental would (e.g. changing from a sharp to a natural, when moving from a 'sharp' key into a 'flat' ...more »
Cautionary Accidentals are turned on (checked in Engraving Rules) for most default house styles. I'd prefer to turn these on myself, if I want them turned on. This is extremely confusing when teaching the program, in particular, because accidentals start showing up when you don't actually input them yourself. (Confusing when teaching note entry!) Personally, I'd prefer for that setting to default "off," and have it ...more »
