Yet another thing publishers and engravers are calling for is setting the distance between staves with numeric values in mm, inch or pixel. This is needed to keep the baseline on one page similar to the next. In german this is called "Registerhaltigkeit". absolute important for engravers and publishers...! The major publishing houses estimated hundred (and more) years ago have to deal with reprinting, re-publishing their old music. In the romantic era it was quite common to write ie. 13 16th in time of a quarter. I have seen this too often to call it a minor effect... Glissando needs an improvement. When one adds a glissando to a note w/o a goal-note playback wont play the glissando. So a fall or gliss-down wont work.
It also would be great to set the startpoint and duration of a glissando.
When a glissando is added to a whole-note the duration of the glissando covers the complete note-duration, even when the gliss should be played at the very end of a note.
When there are two notes of the same pitch in opposing voices (stem-up and stem-down) at the same time-point, Sibelius overlays the noteheads. This is incorrect when the notes are of differing lengths (e.g. one has a rhythm dot and the other does not): in this case the notes should be offset to avoid overlaying each other. The noteheads should overlay only when they are of identical lengths.
Please enable the user to make different positioning-settings of rehearsal-marks when they are at the beginning of a line.
All publishers I am working for are placing the rehearsalmark above a clef rather than next to it.
Why not setting this up in the rehearsalmark - panel with 2 settings - default and "when at the beginning of a new line"
Insert commas, cesuras etc. between two notes easily (one keystroke?). A user-defined symbol should be possible, e.g. a small vertical line instead of a comma.
The horizontal position of commas etc. should be automatically adjusted in the score and in the parts. The vertical position should not change during transposition.
At present, Sibelius scores can use any fonts available on the originator's system. But a recipient of that score might not be able to read the Sibelius score correctly as the author intended because the same fonts are not available on the recipient's system. At present, Sibelius centres lyric syllables on the owning note. In the case of vocal scores with multiple verses, this leads to a ragged left margin of the first syllables of each verse.
Sibelius should have an option that allows the left-justification of lyric syllables, in particular, those at the starts of verses.
That left-justification should work whether or not the syllable is preceded by a verse number.
It would be very helpful to have something like a Cadenza option- that is to input notes with no predetermined meter, as in a cadenza. This would also be helpful for modern scores that do not use barlines. Spacing rules would be observed, and once the line was full, it would seamlessly shift to the next. Exit the Cadenza input would return to whatever meter had been in place prior to the passage.

A little easy-to-use note-editor for the IPad/Android-Tablets as a free download for registered Sibelius User would bring you miles ahead.
One can enter some ideas and syncronize them with Sibelius or export them as a sib-file...

Chords symbols with an alternate bass note should be at an angle, NOT right next to each other (i.e. C/B). Sibelius only allows C/B, but if you want it how it is supposed to look, it has to be done manually and is a big pain.
There is a plug-in to make them vertical, but that means a polychord, NOT a chord with an alternate bass note.
This is an important feature for publishers.
Very often when working for the great publishing houses I hear the following:
"Please use Finlae, we do need different shapes of brackets in one score".
Most traditional houses are using dif. brackets to separate instruments from voices. Commonly the instrument-brackets have round edges while choir-brackets got hard edges.
I guess this wont be that hard to implement.
