Scorch or a Sibelius file viewer app for Android devices that let you transpose the score would be extremely useful.
Make two staves virtually link their contents. Example 1: Notation staff and tablature staff: When a note is changed/added/deleted in the tablature staff it will automatically be changed/added/deleted in the notation staff, and viceversa. Example 2: Linked dynamics: When dynamics are added/changed/deleted in one staff they will also be added/changed/deleted in the linked staff. Example 3: When a note is added/changed/deleted ...more »
Could you please improve the sounds on Scorch when playing back the score... People are selling their scores on score-exchange and a good sound is always selling point. Why not a licence-agreement with, lets say sonivox SF, so the sounds come along with the plugin installed locally on a users computer. http://www.sonivoxmi.com/ProductList.asp?new=1&lstSort=Instrument&mnu=List&lstShipCode=D&optDetail=D&lstSynthSearch=Soundfont&sfpict=1&pagetitle=SONiVOX%20-%20Soundfonts&a1b2=379988135 ...more »
Scorch should be useable on a Mac. Ideally on Safari & Opera as well as Firefox. It doesn't even work on Firefox at the moment.
Scorch runs well on the iPad and it would be a useful adjunct to its playback feature to have a limited composition feature. This would be extremely useful for young musicians who would become future Sibelius users.
See both notation and MIDI performance on the same staff. Ability to edit each individual note's velocity, duration, start point and end point. Double click each note and enter in precise numerical values.
How about making a stand alone version of Scorch for all platforms. The app should focus on the playback feature, with possibility to loop certain parts and changing the tempo.
I have scorch on my ipad and many of my sibelius files loaded. There does not seem to be any way to search and locate a particular file and tap on it to get it to open. You can search for a file name and a list of files with that name will appear, but if you tap on the filename you will be opening whatever file is underneath the search results box and NOT the file you are trying to get to. You can only sort the files ...more »
Bit of a aesthetics nazi one here but the quality of the graphics on the keypad compared to the rest of the software is very 90s!
Sticks out against the markedly better quality of the type, notation and general resolution of the rest of the Sibelius experience.
Obviously not something that keeps me up at night but needs improving.
Midi routing is hard to learn for each program, so if Sibelius and Pro Tools had the same Mixer with identical Midi/Audio routing principals it would be perfect! Not only You learn one and know how to work in PT AND Sibelius, but more: we should be able to exchange templates from each of the two programs to the other. So this also means, that PT should consider a better method for triggering sounds by articulation ...more »
Like in Adobe software. Very slow scrolling through when you have a ton of fonts installed on your computer and would be handy regardless. And while we're at it what about a small preview of the font right in the the list?
Could we have more than one system stave in order to support different time-signatures simultaneously? These could be linked to a master stave and each instrument could be linked to different system staves at different points in the score.
