Hello, I'm a blind composer. I'm using a Sibelius demo to try the accessibility functions. I have downloaded and installed the Visual Impaired scripts written by Bob Zawalich, and find Sibelius already very accessible. But since I write complicated music, I'd like to request the following features, and hope they can be included in future version of Sibelius. 1. I'd like to se Sibelius has a convenient selection function ...more »
It would be nice if Sibelius Scorch had a metronome. This would be of immense help to beginners and opens up the prospect of being able to write instructional tutorials entirely within HTML.
It would be great to have an app that displayed the score or parts on a tablet for playing from on a music stand. With the ability to re-paginate for different table sizes and distances, and to be able transpose as standard (like Scorch but for performance rather than printing). Selective parts playback could give you a music minus one option (particularly if you could adjust the pitch). A further feature could be to ...more »
In Engraving Rules I'd like to see a "Gap After Clef" setting that would affect ONLY the bars with a clef when adjusting the space between a Clef and a Key Signature. Alternatively, there is already an Initial Clef Width setting in Engraving Rules that doesn't affect ONLY the bars with a clef. (See screenshot.) A seen in the screenshot, when trying to adjust the space between a Clef and KS in the top row using the ...more »

I have onboard sound for Skype etc., a quality audio interface for DAW work. Not, I imagine, a unique setup. If I forget to power the external interface before starting Sibelius, it defaults to the onboard sound. But next time I start Sibelius, this setting is remembered. I have to go to Audio Engine and re-choose my external interface. When I open a score that expects a different playback device to my default one, ...more »
In 6/8 time, if you enter two crotchets at the beginning of the bar, Sibelius should automatically combine the last two quaver rests into a crotchet rest, not leave them as two quaver rests. Except for the slowest of tempos, that bar really has a ¾ feel. I would say the same even if two crotchets are first and last in the bar.
It would be great if individual symbols could be assigned keyboard shortcuts
Hello, I'm a blind musician. When I'm doing a project producing braille music from Sibelius exported musicxml, I discovered there are lots of things musicxml can't express. I asked Michael Good, and he said the Manuscript language is very limited. For example, the xml can't point out whether a text belongs to a staff or a system. Also, there are lots of lines and brackets in the xml, but in Sibelius, they are lots of ...more »
Scorch should be Airturn compatible so that we can use the handsfree turners to play! I have to use other applications just to ensure that the page will turn. Very bothersome that I can't use Scorch for that!!!
