Detect repetitions and "shorten" the score

I have a large collection of MIDI files, and these MIDI files often have repeating sections. Now I want Sibelius to automatically and intelligently recognize repetitions in the imported MIDI file and "shorten" the score by cutting the repetitions and intelligently adding repetition bar lines, 1./2. endings, D.C. als Segno, DaCapo, al Coda, etc. etc. etc. The resulting play-back of the "shortened" score then should be ...more »

Transpose-able slash note heads

Currently it's not possible to transpose notes with slashes for note heads. If I create a rhythm sheet for guitar and want to copy it to the piano, the notes (slashes) are no longer in the middle of the staff. The command to transpose up or down an octave doesn't work on these notes. The workaround is to change the note heads to regular ones, transpose and change back. This only works if all your notes are slashes or ...more »

Plugins for Scorch

I would really like to be able to write plugins that would work on Scorch. The possibilities to adjust notation to suit the end user are already so great with Sibelius and ManuScript, but it's hard to deliver that individualised experience to the users who need it most, because they usually don't have access to the full version of the program.

Allow manual overide

With modern music breaking new ground in formatting and notation, users should be given the opertunity to overide all presets in the score. My idea would be, when the engraver select "Manual Overide", the score, up to that point would remain as is and allow you to select and move anything in the score without restrictions. Of course this would disable any playback and force you to save the score as "For Print or View ...more »

Better than flexi-time

I will admit that I am lousy at following a metronome. I also like to improvise and would love to turn improvisations into usable scores, even if just for my own reference. So here's my simple method (simple for the user, not necessarily simple to implement): Use flexi-time to record the notes, as usual, but then provide a way to manually mark the beats. In one possible implementation, there would a special "correction" ...more »

Bring back the parts window PLEASE

Please bring back the old Part window. Having everything in different places slows me down so much! So, what I used to do is have the part window open. I could see what part I was on, what part was next, in a lovely vertical list. All the icons below was everything I needed. I can edit easily what staves are in each part, I know what part is next, it only opens one part at a time (I hate the tabs thing in the new Sibelius, ...more »
