Playback of multiple fermatas in 1 bar

The playback of multiple fermatas in different parts on different beats is often haphazard and unpredictable. This problem often arises is cadenzas -- let's say in an orchestral score of an opera. Two or more singers may have multiple fermatas on different beats. Various instruments may have cutoffs and rests with fermatas on yet different beats. And those instruments that don't play at all will have fermatas on the ...more »

Fermata Insertion on Multiple Staves

When you are working with a score with multiple staves, and you insert a fermata on a single note in one staff, Sibelius should insert the same type of fermata in the same location on all other staves in the score.

That would make the insertion of fermatas easier, since fermatas affect the flow of conducting time during playback of in the score.

Bugs

Playback: Fermata bug

During playback a bug can occur under the following circumstances: 1 -- A fermata is used, and the length and/or delay properties are set. 2 -- Two or more notes in the same voice, immediately following the fermata, have the same pitch. 3 -- Some combination of the fermata length, delay, and the current tempo will cause the second note (in the voice[s] with two notes on the same pitch) to either not play at all, or ...more »

Fermata over barline

It should be possible to place a fermata over/under a barline and have it insert a gap or pause for a specified time. This can be done on notes in later versions of Sibelius, but the only way of doing it on barlines at the moment is by a huge faff inserting bars with an odd length and hidden rests which is crazy.

Live Tempo Malfunction

I'm currently trying to work on a piece that is in 8/4 time, and is 200 measures long with 33 staff lines on Sibelius 7.5.1, using Windows 7 Home Premium. I notice that even after calibrating live tempo, when I try recording a live tempo section, the recording bar often seems to either lag far behind or skip far ahead of the measures and tap-points where I am actually trying to conduct. It also doesn't handle fermatas ...more »

Bugs

Repeated notes after fermata

Perhaps this problem has been reported before. I'm using Sibelius 7.5. When repeated notes follow a fermata, the second note in the series isn't sounded during playback and export. (Sometimes it sounds, but the volume is practically inaudible.) I tried to get around it by putting the repeated note on an ossia staff, but then I got unpredictable errors in the sound library. The only workaround that reliably helped ...more »
