Sibelius scores should embed fonts

At present, Sibelius scores can use any fonts available on the originator's system. But a recipient of that score might not be able to read the Sibelius score correctly as the author intended because the same fonts are not available on the recipient's system. This proposal is that Sibelius score files should embed fonts, on the same basis as PDF files embed fonts so that they can be read on systems that do not contain ...more »

SMuFL fonts should be supported

Sibelius should support music fonts in the SMuFL (Standard Music Font Layout) Unicode format, as well as the existing 8-bit legacy font layouts. The SMuFL specification is here: http://www.smufl.org/ Examples of SMuFL-compliant fonts include: Bravura: http://www.smufl.org/fonts/ November v2: http://www.klemm-music.de/notation/november2/en/index.php Music applications already supporting SMuFL-compliant fonts include: ...more »

Sibelius 7 treats 3rd-party music fonts incorrectly

Sibelius 7.x for Windows does not work correctly with third-party music fonts, encoded as Symbol Fonts. This is most obvious in the "Edit Symbol" dialog, where Sibelius 7.x for Windows incorrectly displays the glyphs for 0x0000 to 0x00ff instead of the correct glyphs for 0xf000 to 0xf0ff. This bug affects: - Sibelius 7.x for Windows; - when used with certain 3rd-party music fonts (such as the Finale fonts, the Urtext ...more »

Search Field for Text fonts

Like in Adobe software. Very slow scrolling through when you have a ton of fonts installed on your computer and would be handy regardless. And while we're at it what about a small preview of the font right in the the list?

Bad rounding in Text Style font size dialog

The font size dialog boxes in the "Edit Text Style" dialog window have multiple problems. The most serious is that the font size displayed is always rounded to x.0 or x.5 points, even when the existing internal size is some other decimal fraction of a point. For instance, in the first attached graphic, the font sizes should be 19.8 and 16.2 (in this particular score) points, but the displayed sizes are 19.5 and 16.5 ...more »

Tonic Sol-Fa

I want to be able to produce scores in tonic sol-fa notation (WITHOUT standard music notation). As far as I'm aware, there is currently no software available to do this, but I'm sure it could be done fairly easily. The difficulty of just trying to write it on, say, Microsoft Word, is that spacing quickly becomes a problem, and there are no good ways of writing the little hook (, or ' ) denoting octave, without using up ...more »

Tuplets: Alternatives to hooks (font objects)

It would be nice to be able to add separate font objects to the beginning and end of tuplets (as an alternative to hooks).

This would allow for a more personalized notation. This is important, not least when working with esthetics that lie close to handwriting .

Keypad font

May we have the old, less blocky font back for the Keypad please? The one where normal notes and gracenotes looked different.
