If music smoothly scrolled while playing in panorama view, this would allow people to play along with the score and also make for a much more natural aesthetic. Also, if there were an option to replace the playback line with simply lighting up the note heads as they played, this would also greatly improve the aesthetics of playback (not only in panorama view).
The ability to assign vibrato [designated by pitch width, frequency, velocity and speed] would add a rich dimension to strings. I see this as similar to the trill. The sign is the wiggly line. String players differentiate between the fast vibrato [narrow wiggly line] and slow vibrato [wide wiggly line] - these options would find a home.
The various classes of Line objects in a Sibelius score appear to have two independent properties affecting magnetic layout: (1) whether the Line avoids other objects in the score by displacing itself; (2) whether the Line pushes staves apart during Layout -> Optimize. Just a few classes of Line have both properties (for instance: hairpins, trills, pedals). Most have only (1) and not (2). Some have neither. Nowhere ...more »
There are a lot of great ideas already posted for "scrub" playback options, but at the very least why not simply be able to audition or "scrub" notes by manually moving the green playback line back and forth? It seems like such a simple feature. It's a glaring omission that Sibelius can't do this. Having to put Sibelius in play mode just to hear a chord I entered is really kind of ridiculous. This would be especially ...more »
I would like to be able to just hide the green playback line during playback. It's not smooth and it's never on perfect time. Why not let me read naturally without any help from the playback line? It could be substituded by a line or bar with custom color and with alpha transparency 0%-100%
When playback using Transport, a green line follow the notes by default as it moving on. I would like the green line to follow the metronome beat. At least I would like it to be an option in preferences to choose either note or beat for the green line. What I would like the green line to do, we find in Musicator, Enore and Finale. It is actually much better to judge my notation if I can read it in reference to the beat. ...more »
The class of Line concerned with Tempo changes (incorporating the text rit./rall./accel.) do not, when the text is individually selected, respond vertically to "Reset Position". (They might respond slightly horizontally). This makes it difficult to get Tempo Lines to snap into the Magnetic Layout grid, or restore them to their default position after having moved them. Tempo Lines can have their vertical position reset ...more »
This is either a request for help or a request for an upgraded feature, depending on whether I've just missed something. WHEN EXPORTING TO VIDEO with a playback line, I'd like the line to smoothly track the music, as it does during playback in Sibelius. Or, at least, to have a setting where the user can specify the resolution of its movement (eg, every quarter note, every 8th note, etc.) I'm using Sibelius 7.5.1. ...more »
When playing back, the Playback Line (green moving line) stays visible by advancing pages as needed. When you hit stop (space bar or escape), the music stops but the page that has the green playback line moves off-screen in many cases. This leads to a hunt for the actual stopping point (is it one page ahead? one page back?) This even happens in panorama view. Very frustrating when trying to trouble shoot an odd sound. ...more »
when exporting a score to WMV format or sharing to Youtube, the playback line is always lag a note or two. I think this might be a bug that could be fixed.
