Erase background obscuring text when printing

When text crosses a barline, it is useful to make ["erase"] a space in the barline for the text to cross. Up to Sib 7 I used whitespace tif's for this but with Sib 7 I changed my method to using the typgraphic controls in the inspector. I now select the text / select Text Frame from the Inspector, give the frame a little extra height and select the [vertical] alignment. Then I select erase background. This all ...more »

Print with Enter key in Print dialog

Sibelius 7.5 doesn't use the Windows convention of allowing to use the Enter key in a print dialog to begin printing. In Sibelius 7.5, you have to click on the Print button to start printing instead. It might not seem to be such a big problem, but it's pretty annoying to me. I don't see a reason why Sibelius can't behave as other Windows applications do. Sibelius 5 allowed you to begin printing with the Enter key, ...more »

Print count bug

When printing multiple copies of a complete set of parts, the number of individual parts is ignored and only one is printed. For example, if I need two full sets of parts, and 3 copies (x2) of one of those parts, Sib only prints one copy of that part, along with the rest. I have to go back and print extra copies of that individual part to complete the sets.

Print Page Setup does not work on OKI & Kyocera

If you try to change the paper size to A3 on a Kyocera KX printer driver it does not have any effect. If you do this on an OKI PCL5 driver it crashes Sibelius (but it does work on the universal OKI PCL6 driver, however you cannot set other printer options with this reduced function driver and the print speed on this driver is incredibly slow). Curiously it all worked OK in 7.1.2 but went wrong in 7.1.3. and is worse ...more »

Print dual 5x7 marching band parts on single 8.5x11 sheet

Sibelius wastes a huge amount of paper when creating marching band parts which are 5x7 but you can print two on a single 8.5x11 sheet of paper. This would literally cut in half the paper a band program uses during their marching season for arrangements done in Sibelius. Yes, it can be done manually by manually cutting up parts and taping them to another sheet then copying, but that's very time consuming and many of ...more »
