Make selected objects more obvious

At present, an object which is selected during editing just changes colour. This colour change might be quite difficult to spot in a display screen full of music. Consider, for instance, a scenario where the user searches for a minim rest: the result is a screen full of music with just one minim rest in a different colour: but where? (7.1.3b77) object.Select() no longer works for rests

As of Sibelius 7.1.3, selecting a note rest programmatically in ManuScript does not work. This has broken most plug-ins which select things (!) including my own Copy/Repeat Notes Only. Sibelius 7 Sounds Instrument selection

Working with Sib. 7.5 and Sibelius 7 Sounds. Starting a new score. Adding the instruments. I wish that some instruments can play intonations which are usual in Jazz. So the orchestra body I select from the dropdown menu "Orchestral instruments". Then I turn to those where I wish Jazz intonation, select them from "Jazz Instruments". Mute Notes/Selection

I would like to be able to quickly mute a selection. I realize you could go into inspector and unselect 1st time playback but its a bit cumbersome and also then there is no visual indication that the section has been muted. So perhaps something like: select a few bars, hit the mute notes button or Ctrl-M, and then the music turns grey (or hidden) and the notes do not playback.
