Note-editor for IPad (and Android-Tablets)

Everybody is talking about... but no solution in sight.

A little easy-to-use note-editor for the IPad/Android-Tablets as a free download for registered Sibelius User would bring you miles ahead.

One can enter some ideas and syncronize them with Sibelius or export them as a sib-file...

You wont believe how many people would just freak out... ;)

Sibelius Sounds strings

IMHO, the string sounds in Sibelius Sounds 7 are still in need of drastic improvement, even though SS7 improved slightly from SS6. They still sound somewhat acrid and metallic, with a buzzy tone. While many other of the instruments are now acceptable, the artificial string tone and poor articulations are dead giveaways when listening to a playback that this computerized performance.

Allow Sibelius files to call other Sibelius files

If Sibelius files could call other Sibelius files, it would be possible to write entire books using Sibelius. This would be especially useful for educators at all levels and would make exporting Sibelius books to mobile media extremely easy, particularly on the iPad. It would also obviate the necessity to place text and graphics in one program whilst having the musical examples in Sibelius.

Bugs

Sibelius 7.5.1 breath mark malfunction

The new operable breath marks (commas) and caesuras in Sibelius 7.5.1 are a real blessing. But I have encountered one problem. Breath marks don't operate if the preceding note is tied. Can this problem be corrected? Also, it would be better if the commas appeared between the notes where the breath mark occurs. It takes time to manually nudge them all leftward, and sometimes they dislodge from the note where they ...more »

Step playback in selected voices or full score

Currently, you can select a staff and by the right and left arrow on the direction pad step through the part note by note by rest - etc... It would be wonderful to select multiple staffs or full score and do the same thing, and have the pitches sustain no matter what articulation or duration. This is for verifying the "right" notes. Currently the only way to do this is to alter the playback tempo to very slowly. You ...more »

Tuplets across Bar Lines

It would be great with Sibelius could suport tuplets across bar lines. I guess this might be a popular demand since when one enter "Sibelius tuplets" on Google the two first auto complete suggestion are on this subject.

Sibelius and Linux

Make Sibelius work in Linux. Seriously, there are just 2 pieces of software I use, holding a Windows installation on my laptop: Sibelius and Sketchup.

Please make Sibelius work on Linux. I don't mean go open source, there are lots of good Linux software you have to pay for.

REWIRE 64-bit

Currently, Sibelius can only communicate with a DAW that is in 32-bit mode. Like many other people, I use Sonar in 64-bit mode. I bought Sibelius specifically TO use Rewire and now it's useless to me.

I am requesting that Sibelius create a patch that allows Sibelius 7 to communicate with 64-bit DAW. Thank you.

Bugs

Flute trill playback in Sib 7 sounds broken

Multiple trills in Sibelius 7 sounds results in garbage on playback. The trills do not terminate after the note ends and make the following note or notes trill. After two or three trills the trill then continues in all following notes for about 4 bars.

Additional instruments

In addition to the vast sound library that Sibelius offers, I would like to propose that the software should include additional sounds such as: an accordion/bandoneon set, additional woodwind instruments (such as bass saxophone, Japanese wind instruments, Latin-American instruments and oboe d'amore), additional brass instruments (such as a cimbasso and contrabass trombone), additional string instruments (such as a Koto, ...more »

Keystrokes between Reh. Marks

Sibelius 7.5 introduced a "convenient" way to navigate between markers in a score; by clicking on a rehearsal mark in the new Timeline, we're redirected to that part of the score. Please make this navigation independent of the Timeline (which is visual clutter) and mouse-less by introducing a keyboard shortcut for going forward and backward in rehearsal marks. Make it so that both selection and playback start at the rehearsal ...more »

Are all these ideas really being taking seriously?

This blog has been around for quite a while now, then Sibelius 8.0 was release and nothing important didn't change. For the disappointment of many, v.8.0 came up missing even old features. Why do we keep posting on here, when it does not seem to be really making a change? would it be just a way to keep us users with the hope for a future new release?
