The 's' command creates slurs for a selected passage in only one staff. It would be very helpful, if Sibelius would create slurs for all selected staves instead! Same feature would be great for hairpins, actually!
The end of the slur must be attached to the last note, during a cross-staff.
It is a common rule that a slur is attached to notes when the lyrics are melismatic.
Being that one will always have to do so, why not implement a feature to add slurs automatically. Sure, it should be possible to enable/disable this function in the preferences or where-ever it supposed to be.
Please note I wrote syllabic but meant melismatic. I have changed this on 25-01-2013
Scores with many grace notes take huge amounts of time to correct by hand. Some grace notes collide with each other or with the parent notes, while other grace notes are ridiculously far away from other grace notes or their parent note.
When slurs are added to grace notes things get even more ridiculous, in some cases it is impossible to manually set the correct position of these slurs.
Perhaps not as a direct reincarnation but as a locking handle that can be used to join slurs together for complex shapes. If the slurs could adopt to their new state with a unified line thickness so the ends don't taper at the connecting joins, that would make my day.
Alternatively just include a pen tool a la Illustrator so we can draw our own custom lines with beziers and splines.
It might be very clever to be able to step from one handle of a slur to the next all way around.
You quite often have to do some adjustments on slurs to give them a better shape or to avoid so called "blitzer". When slurs are too small it can be tricky to "catch" the handles.
Could it be made possible to alter slur properites to show a tick in the middle of the slur to indicate that it is editorial. This could be a switch or tick box in the Inspector.
This would be very useful for people who have to prepare editions or other strict rules of engraving.
