When using the transport bar for playback, it would be helpful to be able to choose and adjust your tempo with manual entry of numbers, rather than (or in addition to) the slider bar. This would give more precise control, instead of the "slippery slider bar." Thank you.
I would appreciate to record tempo-changes using the scroll-wheel of my mouse rather than tapping the tempo with the keyboard. It would be more precisely.
Please see this as an additional feature to the existing "conductor".
Add a metronome view which can adjust tempos for practicing/recording/playback via scrolling on a magic mouse/trackpad or using arrow keys. Option to show light flashes for beats. Play subdivisions of beats for recording at slow tempos. Add a button that can paste the current tempo onto the staff.
Especially for changing tempo it would be great to have a "conductors ruler" like in Pro Tools.
The class of Line concerned with Tempo changes (incorporating the text rit./rall./accel.) do not, when the text is individually selected, respond vertically to "Reset Position". (They might respond slightly horizontally). This makes it difficult to get Tempo Lines to snap into the Magnetic Layout grid, or restore them to their default position after having moved them. Tempo Lines can have their vertical position reset ...more »
While tapping out tempos with a keyboard or a foot pedal is convenient, imagine using your iSight camera to detect your conducting patterns. Sibelius could add performance nuances such as tempo changes and dynamics into your recording, and suggest notation for your score.
Currently it is not supported to use Live Tempo using ReWire. However, it is very useful to use, for instance, to sync with a movie and SFX in Pro Tools, for instance. Whereas using the "Tempo track" option in the ReWire mode this would not be possible, it could be in the "Fixed tempo" mode.
The Tempo text "Slower" or "Faster" generates MusicXML code for an inappropriate metric modulation, rather than for a tempo change.
See attachments for more evidence.
When applying a tempo equation [metric modulation] between a pair of multirests the text breaks the rest so rather than having 8+8 we may end up with 7+1+8 or 8+1+7 depending on where the equation is situated. We may try to surreptitiously copy an equation from another location and paste it in the correct location but as soon as anything else is changed on the page it reverts back to the broken multirests. What is more, ...more »
For film/video scoring, it would very helpful to display in the status bar or a popup the tempo required to make the selection playback in a user specified time span.
To specialize the attachment of text to measures: It is common to align the first dot of a tempo text with the first dot of a time signature if present.
This would be a nice feature to have with tempo text.
I'm currently trying to work on a piece that is in 8/4 time, and is 200 measures long with 33 staff lines on Sibelius 7.5.1, using Windows 7 Home Premium. I notice that even after calibrating live tempo, when I try recording a live tempo section, the recording bar often seems to either lag far behind or skip far ahead of the measures and tap-points where I am actually trying to conduct. It also doesn't handle fermatas ...more »
