Each new version of Sibelius sets the playback volume at around 70% of full volume. It would be extremely helpful to have a preference pane to be able to preset playback volumes globally. This would be helpful for young users of Sibelius.
When editing parts with pp or ppp it can be quite annoying that editing plays the note at full volume. The option of either setting edit volume or edit volume following expressions would be great.
When playing a choral piece imported from a pdf, I get volume increases on longer notes, even when "attack" is set to zero.
There appears to be a bug with the choral voices as no other volume settings are affecting the score. A sample score is attached with only the Alto voice prominent.
Sibelius used to play back dynamics of individual voices in a single staff based on dynamics specified with that same voice number. This no longer works, it chooses the same volume for all voices on a staff.
This is really important in many places, including multiple instruments on the same staff, but also to bring out melody in piano lines, etc.
In Home > Instruments > Edit Instruments > Edit Instruments ...
The Fields Pan, Distance, Volume and Glissando Type seem to have no effect.
Could it be possible to kill the sound which Sibelius makes whilst inputting notes, while at the same time having the audio still ive on the rest of the computer?
I don't like to hear the notes as I input them, but I do like, for instance, to listen to the BBC World service in my web browser whilst I'm working on Sibelius.
