Sibelius' video/mp3 playback always needs a few bars to fully sync with the score playback. The timecode offset feature also needs to be improved!
swing/shuffle settings and and its playback are very basic in Sibelius. How about custom settings for swing/shuffle intensity with percent values? 50% means even 8ths, 66% means triplet swing, 75% means dotted 8ths and settings in between would be great for more realism in jazz and groove-oriented styles! Adding these settings for 8th and 16th notes would radically improve playback!
It would be a great time saver, if one could define default noteheads per pitch on drum staves, so i.e. all HiHat notes will automatically have crossed noteheads by default! Sure, you could use filters to do this, but it would be much easier and faster, if it's already done in background while entering notes.
Of course one should be able to customize these settings!
It would be very handy and intuitive to be able to edit i.e. 1st/2nd ending lines by double-clicking and simply entering text. Usually you have to create custom line styles to create a "1.-x." and "on cue" ending. Same would apply to rit. or accel. lines. There is a bunch of neat presets for it, but with this simple text-entry trick, you could save a lot of time looking for the right preset!
The 's' command creates slurs for a selected passage in only one staff. It would be very helpful, if Sibelius would create slurs for all selected staves instead! Same feature would be great for hairpins, actually!
Sibelius should be able to properly display poly-chords with a horizontal line between the upper and lower chord!
There should be a live preview for all house-style changes. When editing text styles, you always have to close the dialog to see the change in your score. Simply add an "apply" button to the dialog or do a live update to your score in the background. Same could be easily applied to all global settings in the document layout panel!
