Still missing is that you can fix & save the channel routing. Everytime I apply some orchestral percussion, I hear oboes, trumpets playing when the drum should be there. I wish to assign channels for the drum staves, so I do not have to search with each reopening of a score where to get the sounds from. This is time wasting. And: Even if I add the orch percussion with a 5 line system, I only hear *one* sound (if finally ...more »
Hi. I'd love to suggest Sibelius also accepts plugins with the plugin format *aax. The sad story behind this is that Gibson has killed off Cakewalk, the product will neither be sold nor developped anymore. (Please see http://www.cakewalk.com/Gibson-Announcement.) As a user of Sibelius (8.7.2) it was a small step for me to replaye my #1 DAW Cakewalk Sonar by ProTools (12.8.2), but alas, ProTools takes only plugins with ...more »
In a 6/8 measure I can create quadruplets to have a conflict rhythm 6 quavers against 4 quavers. That's nice. I wish to have the same function in a 5/8 measure, to achive the conflict rhythm 5 quavers against 4 quavers. Presently, if I mark all the 5 quavers and chose "quadruplet", Sib takes the first 3 quavers and creates a quadruplet, leaving the remaining 2 quavers unchanged. That's not what I wish. (Actually, that ...more »
Please, I am trying to use GPO 5 Garritan Personal Orchestra 5 in Sib 7.5 with no result.
I urgently need a was to make Sib recognize GPO 5 as an instrument. It just doesn't appear there.
As I recently wrote I purchased Garritan Personal Orchestra 5, hoping to have the optimum of brass sounds - to my ears, they are realy good and sound very natural and powerful /when needed). But Sibelius 7.5 does not "recognize" there is GPO5 in my computer, although I did install the lates version of Aria player and Plogue engine. So I asked at "MakeMusic" about the issue, and this is what they answered me last night ...more »
Hi everyone. Purchased Garritan Personal Orchestra 5 (I alrady have GPO4, and Garritan J.A.B.B.) Now I find that sibelius does not "see" GPO5. It only offers me GPO4, and J.A.B.B. Now, in earlier times for the ensembles there were VSt.dll files which I had to copy and paste into the VSt folder. I did so with the most current Aria Player which I updated after installing GPO5, but that apparently is not enough. I had posted ...more »
Purchased and installed Garritan Personal Orchestra 5. Sibelius seems not to "see" GPO5, only GPO4 (which is also installed on my PC). Trying to find out: Do I have to find a VST.dll of GPO5, or is it enough to have the newest Aria-Player.dll?
Running Windows 10 home premium 64bit, 16 GB RAM, system HD is SSD.
When using VSt instruments in Sub 7.5, for example sforzando, or pianoteq, you wish to save some presets so those instruments fit into the overall sound of the score. After closing Sib, the presets will be forgotten, and by relaunch of the project you have to recall the presets (.fxp) in the VSt instruments from your "roaming" folder where you saved them. This is rather time consuming and unneccessary. Sib should reopen ...more »
It is inevitable to consider quartertone intervals as autonomous intervals instead of "superchromatic alterations " of the "well tempered" ones. Having a given line containing quartertones, it must be that it's inversion, or retrograde, contains the same quartertone equivalents as the original. Currently, the accidental "1 quartertone up" is transposed a quarter tone down (to natural", and the accidental for "1 quartertone ...more »
The auto-updater can only be set "active" to check in periods of 90 days. This is a reasonable setting. But it would be useful if I could activate the search for new updates of Sib and its plugins spontaneously, to verify if there is anything new available.
I'd love to have more strings articulations, and to hear them during playback, and after mixing. 1st.: The change from "sul tasto" to "sul ponte". You never can hear that change in playback, and it does not appear in the mix. 2nd.: Especially the double basses should have all the articulations available that there are for the other strings. In comtemporaty music, it is usual to have the double bass play things such as ...more »
Please see for reference score my entry at http://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpcenter/chat/chat.pl?com=thread&start=667526&groupid=3& For certain instruments, when using quartertones, accents cause wrong pitches. Especially oboes, with accent >. Then I found that sometimes using legato slurs, or even the technical expression "legato" itself, caused the violins either to transpose a bit, or grace notes are added. !!! ...more »
